Are you an authorized Sub-Zero or Wolf servicer?
No. Palm Springs Built-In Appliance Specialists is an independent company with no affiliation to, authorization from, or endorsement by Sub-Zero Group, Inc. We specialise in servicing their equipment and fit genuine manufacturer parts, but we are not a factory service centre. If your appliance is still inside its manufacturer warranty, contact Sub-Zero Group directly first — work by an independent company may affect that cover, and we would rather tell you that than take the booking.
My unit is out of warranty. Is a repair still sensible?
Usually, and by a wide margin. These appliances are built for twenty years or more, and the parts that fail — condensers, gaskets, igniters, control boards, fans — are all serviceable. A repair that runs a few hundred dollars against a replacement that runs many thousands, plus cabinetry work to fit a new unit into an existing opening, is rarely a close call.
How often should the condenser really be cleaned?
At least once a year in most homes, and every six months in the valley — blown dust and a long cooling season are hard on a condenser, and harder still on a unit in a busy kitchen. A blocked condenser makes the compressor work harder and hotter for years before it fails, and by then the repair is an order of magnitude more expensive than the cleaning would have been.
Do you carry parts on the van?
For the common failures on both marques, yes — gaskets, igniters, spark modules, fans, sensors, filters and the control boards that fail most often. Because these marques are our focus, our stock goes deep rather than wide. Anything rarer is typically here within two to four working days.
Will you take the unit out of the cabinetry?
Only when the work genuinely requires it, and with the care that installation deserves. Floors are protected, custom panels come off by hand, and the appliance goes back square to the run with the doors realigned. Most repairs are completed in place.
What does a visit cost?
$149 for the diagnostic, credited in full against the repair if you go ahead. After diagnosis you receive one flat price for parts and labour before any work begins. The annual maintenance programme is $249 per appliance for two visits, or $179 for a single visit.
